The Ultimate Old Fashioned – One of the Best Recipes You’ll Find Anywhere

Old Fashioned

The Official Drink of the “Tom & Tom Golf Podcast”

INGREDIENTS

2 oz Bourbon (Four Roses Small Batch preferred, but feel free to use

your favorite brand)

2 tsp Simple Syrup (recipe below)

1 tsp Cherry Juice (from the jar of cherries)

3 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters

3 dashes Orange Bitters (we use Wigle Organic Pomander Orange)

GARNISH

3 Luxardo or Bada Bing Cherries (placed on a straw or pick)

Orange Peel (run along the rim and twisted into the drink)

METHOD

1. Place all ingredients in a tin with ice. Stir well for at least 30 seconds.

2. Strain the mixture from the tin and pour into a rocks glass over one or two giant cubes or balls of ice.

3. Garnish with the cherries and orange peel. Serve immediately.

Simple Syrup Recipe (1:1 Ratio of Sugar and Water)

8 oz Sugar (Turbinado preferred for this recipe)

8 oz Water (spring or filtered)

METHOD

1. Place the sugar and water in a heavy saucepan and bring to a boil for about a minute. Boiling the simple syrup will increase its shelf life.

2. Store the simple syrup in a clean and sterilized bottle. We recommend using a clear plastic squeeze bottle for easy dispensing.

3. Always store your simple syrup in the refrigerator. It can also be frozen for longer storage.

Enjoy your Old Fashioned, and happy golfing!
