How did you get your start in the golf industry?
I started playing golf when I was 15, due to a knee injury I could not play baseball that spring. My knee was healthy by that summer and I needed something to do, so a friend of mine took me out golfing and I was hooked. The following year when I turned 16, I started working at Donegal Highlands cleaning carts. Ever since then I’d be in the golf business working my way up the ladder. I have worked at
a total of five courses over the last 14 years including, Barefoot Resort & Golf, Nemacolin Country Club, Valley Green Golf & Country Club, and now The Phoenix at Buffalo Valley.
I graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School where I played on the golf team. Then I attended the Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach, SC. In 2011 I was elected into membership as a class A PGA Professional.

Golf Superstitions:
I always play with 3 or 5 numbered golf balls and mark them with my wife’s initials, MD. I used a coin from St. Lucia, where we went on our honeymoon. I never use alignment marking on my golf ball. I always putt with the blank side up, so I never second guess myself when I’m standing over a putt.
Funniest/Most Strange Golf Story:
In 2009, I got the opportunity to caddy for Jean Reynolds at the LPGA Tour Qualifying School. It was unusually hot for that time of the year in Florida on the first day of the tournament and everywhere you looked there were complimentary bottles of water for the players. Every opportunity Jean got, she would get a bottle of water, take two sips and give it to me to place in the bag. Walking down the 17th fairway
I started to lag behind the group. When we got to the 18th tee box Jean was concerned about me keeping up with her. At that point I said, “I want to show you something,” and proceeded to pull fifteen bottles of water out of her bag. The whole group got a good laugh from it.
