Pittsburgh National Golf Club

One of Pittsburgh area’s most popular golf courses

Pittsburgh National Golf Club is one of the area’s most popular golf courses. Located on 189 rolling, scenic, wooded acres in Gibsonia, PA, this beautiful and well-maintained golf course features bent-grass from thee to green and keeps players coming back for more.

“We knew we had a lot of work in order to bring the golf course back to its original condition—and we did,” says club owner Lars Eckberg. “We’ve completely renovated all the bunkers, purchased new electric carts, installed Uplink GPS, and tremendously improved the food service.”

Another nice addition to Pittsburgh National is the ability to purchase alcoholic beverages on the course. “We realized that many of our golfers enjoy a few dehydrating and hydrating beverages while playing golf,” says Eckberg. “And now they can at Pittsburgh National.”

Pittsburgh National is located in Allegheny County, about a 30-minute drive from downtown Pittsburgh and about 10 minutes from the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Route 8. This convenient location is making the course a must-play for golfers from all over the region. “We were thrilled to be named one of the Post Gazette’s top five public golf courses in this Western PA region,” says Eckberg. “We are definitely seeing some new golfers who are thrilled with our central location.”

This par-72, 18-hole championship course, with close to 7,000 yards from the tips, has four sets of tees to accommodate players of any skill level. The front nine features gently rolling hills with well-protected, medium-sized greens and wide, tree-lined fairways. The back nine offers more of the same, with some of the most incredible holes in Western PA.

Corporate, charity and group golf outings are Pittsburgh National’s specialty. The club offers group outings with spacious accommodations and a wonderful banquet facility that comfortably seats up to 200 people. They have a wide variety of options to satisfy any groups’ individual needs. Pittsburgh National is more than just a golf destination; it is also a wonderful place to host a non-golf event. There are dozens of weddings here throughout the year, and private and themed events are also very popular. If you are looking for a unique, scenic place for your next event, this could be the perfect place. If you haven’t booked a venue for your holiday work party, call for availability today.

Your group can also relax after golf at the club’s beautiful restaurant and lounge. Jake’s on the Green is a full-service restaurant, bar, and banquet facility. Jake’s features various theme nights, like its very popular Prime Rib Night every Saturday. They also offer a covered back patio, which makes the perfect setting to enjoy a drink and a sandwich after a round of golf.

Pittsburgh National Golf Club features a 250-yard-long, 70-yard-wide grass driving range. It also has open heated hitting stalls, which are available for year-round use. A large putting green and chipping area with sand bunkers complete the professionally groomed practice facilities.

The club also offers private, semi-private, and group golf lessons. “We have two PGA professionals on staff to help you with your game,” says Tim Nypaver, director of golf. “Our goal at Pittsburgh National is to improve your golf game and help you enjoy your time on the course. All of our lessons start with a swing analysis so that we can find out the best way to help you and develop realistic goals for your lessons.” Private, semi-private, and group lessons are available from any of their PGA professional’s on staff by calling the Pro Shop at (724) 265-4800 ext 22.
